To meet the needs of parents Hales Corners Lutheran offers a before and after school program at the Elementary School (Doves Bay) and at the Middle School (BASH).
The Doves Bay program is offered on the Grange Campus for students ages 5-12 years old and includes both the before and the after school programs and the activities and field trips offered on days the students do not have school.
Before and After Youth Program – Doves Bay
Doves Bay provides care on school days from 6:30 AM until the start of school and from the end of school until 6:00 PM. In the morning, K-5th grade students gather in the Fellowship Hall to play games, read and finish homework or study before going to the gym for open gym time and group games. After school, students gather in Fellowship Hall for games, outside sports, a snack and homework time. We realize parents have very hectic schedules and the Doves Bay program is designed to accommodate students and families on a drop in, as needed basis. No set schedule is required for Doves Bay.
Days Off Vacation Education – “Dove Days”
Dove Days are offered on many of the days the students do not have school but are looking for an adventure with their peers or require care due to parents’ work schedules. These are themed days planned to have a camp feel with field trips, projects, educational experiences, and explorations not typically available in the daily classroom setting. Themes such as science, electricity, theater, cooking, and the night sky have been offered along with field trips to the ice skating rink, planetarium, museum, and Discovery World. Registration forms for Dove Days are attached to the Pink Sheet prior to each Dove Day. Vacation days are a time for renewal, relaxation, and fun and these are the goals of each Dove Day.
Enrollment
The enrollment forms for the Doves Bay Program program are available on-line. Once a student is enrolled in Doves Bay you may register for any Dove Day by filling out the form available on-line prior to the day off.
